(1 The 5:16-18 TPT)

  1. Let joy be your continual feast. 17. Make your life a prayer. 18. And in the midst of everything be always giving thanks, for this is God’s perfect plan for you in Christ Jesus.

Haven’t you met people – especially Christians who go about seeking the will of God for their lives? I bet you have. I have met too many of them.

Truth is, the will of God isn’t far-fetched.  As a matter of fact, God wants you to know his plans for your life; his perfect, pleasing, and pleasant plan in Christ Jesus.

You were created to thrive tridimensional – spirit, soul, and body. You’re first a spirit, which possesses a soul, and live in a body. The only way to constantly thrive and sustain it in the long run is to first begin in the spirit because you’re first a spirit. So, whenever you experience lack in your finance, it’s because there’s a lack in your spirit. God’s will is for you to thrive continually.

In the scripture above, the apostle Paul addresses the 3 areas of our lives where we need to thrive if we’re to experience God’s plan in Christ Jesus. They’re:

  1. You must thrive emotionally

How do you thrive emotionally?

The secret is to rejoice always and let joy be your continual feast. God will never tell you to do what he hasn’t empowered you to do. Don’t let what people say steal your joy. Treat praises and criticisms like chewing gum never swallow it.

I encourage you to always rejoice no matter what you’re going through in life. Sadness and gloom make your bones to become brittle which results to cancer of the bone.

Rejoice, sing, dance, praise continually.

  1. You must thrive spiritually

God wants you to thrive spiritually. The bible says, “Guard your heart with all diligence for out of it flow the issues of life.”

The issues of life don’t flow from your enemy but from your heart. So, it is your responsibility to guard your heart so it can be healthy. It’s only a healthy heart that can produce a healthy life.

One way you do this is by making prayer your life style. Prayer should be your way of life.

Don’t use prayer as emergency tool. Most Christians only pray when they’re in difficult situations. Scripture says, “the house of God shall become a house of prayer.” And guess what? You’re the house of God.

You should also pay close attention to your thought life because your thought is prayer. Stinking thinking attracts the demonic; wise thinking leads to kingdom living.

Don’t joke with your prayer life. The only place to take your burden to and not be stressed is at the foot of Jesus. Scripture says, “bring your entire burden to me and I will give you rest.”

  1. You must thrive mentally

You can only be mentally stable and thrive if you always give thanks.

As a family, we’re in the season of thanksgiving. It’s imperative that you take out time to appreciate the people who have in one way or the other helped you in your life’s journey.

Write a mail, send a text, do a short video, or even a voice note and send it to that person; it could a friend, mentor or coach, spouse, parent, child, sibling. Thank the person specifically for what he/she did for you.

Your thanksgiving should be rooted on the good and positive. I quite agree that too many things didn’t work out as you planned. However, look for the little that worked out and thank God for it.

The bible says, “in the midst of everything be always giving thanks” it didn’t say in the midst of good things but all things: both good and bad.
