Steps to Overcome Fear.

  1. Filter the gates to your soul: As we come across different varieties of information from verified and unvaried sources, you owe it to yourself to be the watchman of your soul. You should be sensitive and selective of what goes into the dwelling place of your mind because out of it flows the issues of life (Proverbs 4:23). Anything that does not measure up with what God has said over you and is saying in this season should not find its dwelling in your heart. As you listen to local and international news, be selective of the channels you consume while you put your heart at ease with scriptures.

2. Reaffirm God’s promises: This is the time to make the right choice. This is the best time to reaffirm God’s promises. Truth is, you’ve been glorified; from the perspective of your position in Christ, you’re victorious. it is the devil’s job to consistently bring to your remembrance the seriousness and urgency of your reality.
2 Corinthians 1:20 says “For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God.” (NIV) This means that all your promises from God are secured in Christ.
Isaiah 55:11 says “so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it” Every word spoken over you must be fulfilled, all the devil tries to do is delay it by making you forget it; such that when you forget, you are no longer captured by hope and you remain caught in the web of fear which is his dwelling place.

3. Maintain your core believes: What is your core believe about yourself before this particular trying time? Before the pandemic outbreak, did you believe that by reason of your salvation, you already possess good health and have the ticket to express healing whenever it seems like you are feeling down? If yes, then remember again this believe in this season. What is your core believe about God? Do you believe he is good? Has he been good to you? Do you believe that in this particular trying time, just like all the others, He will still deliver you now? It is very easy to lose sight of our previous victories when faced with present challenges like the children of Israel in the Old Testament.
Deuteronomy 4:9 says “Only be on your guard and diligently watch yourselves, so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen, and so that they do not slip from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and grandchildren”.

It is the devil’s job to consistently bring to your remembrance the seriousness and urgency of your reality. It is your job to continually proclaim what God is saying and doing, this is always the solution. This is why we must constantly be connected to God.
